Music Layers Game
This is a game where students listen to short clips of popular songs separated into layers - drums only, drums and bass, drums with bass and other instruments, and full songs. Click the button below to access the Google Drive folder with 150+ songs. I suggest listening to the drums-only track first and adding layers one at a time.

This game challenges you to guess a song by hearing a short segment of a song - one layer at a time. There are three to four layers (or “stems”) for each song. The goal is to guess the song as soon as possible. Here are the most common types of layers/stems you will hear in this game.
Drums - This is always the first track you will click on. It contains only the drums, percussion, or rhythmic elements for the song.
Bass - The “Bass” track will include the drums and the bass. You will hear two layers together. This might be a bass line played on a bass guitar or a synth.
Other - The “Other” track will add all other instruments to the drum and bass tracks. You will now hear everything except the vocals.
Vocals - The “Vocals” track will include any vocals - lead vocals, background vocals, speaking parts, etc. It will also include every other part, so this will be a clip from the original song with all parts included.

Quality
The layers/stems were separated using AI, so each layer may sound a little off. Some songs have better quality than others. I tried to choose the best sounding parts for the examples.
Variety of Songs
The songs in this collection span from the 1950s to present day. The clips are also from different sections of the songs - chorus, verse, intro, etc. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t know all of them.
